On 5 October 2004, Ferryhill Primary School was presented with the National Award for Excellence in Enterprise in Education at an Award ceremony at Strathclyde University.

CHRISTMAS PANTO 2004
On 16 December 2004 Happy Chappy Productions (an Enterprise project) presented a Christmas Panto, Jack and the Eco-Beanstalk, which was a great success.

Jack climbed up an environmentally friendly beanstalk when youngsters from Ferryhill Primary School put on their festive pantomime!

The children, in primary six and seven set up their own enterprise company called Happy Chappy Productions.

Members of the company were involved in the production, taking on roles in areas such as production, advertising, finance, market research, publicity and administration.

They cast the parts for Jack and the Eco-Beanstalk rehearsed, created staging, suitable lighting, programmes and generated sponsorship.

It was performed twice at Harlaw Academy on Thursday 16 December 2004

The panto told the story of a giant who polluted Bon Accord village. The villagers were fed up and couldn’t find a way to stop him…but the youngsters kept the ending a closely guarded secret!

Happy Chappy Productions was awarded £800 from Aberdeen City Council’s Challenge Fund, to help with the costs of producing the show.
