This is the chance for children in Aberdeen to get their creative writing on air - on the BBC's daily children's radio programme, The Big Toe Radio Show.
The programme is for 9 to 11 year olds and is broadcast every day between 4 and 6pm on BBC 7. The show offers children the chance to hear stories, take part in phone in competitions, listen to interviews and music and join in with quizzes.
Between now and Friday 24th February, the show is running a nation-wide 'Sound Story' competition. The competition is inspired by BBC Radio 4's Reith Lectures. This year's lecturer is the eminent conductor Daniel Barenboim and the title for the series is 'In the beginning was sound...'
This is why we are asking school children to write a story or poem inspired by sound. The competition is open to any child of 14 years and under and Big Toe is very keen that children at your school get the chance to take part.
For more details, please go to The Big Toe Radio Show's website at
www.bbc.co.uk/bigtoe
and click on 'The SOUND STORY competition' on the right hand side of the home page.
There you will be able to download an A4 size poster about the competition and see a detailed list of the
rules.
You can listen to Big Toe on the website, on DAB digital radio, Freeview channel 78, Digital Satellite channel 881 or on Digital cable (Telewest Broadband channel 910/ntl home channel 866).
We look forward to receiving entries from children at your school!

Banners should have an environmental message and be decorated so we can display them outside at the Green Fun Day. The aim will be to make the banner and decorate it using materials that would otherwise have been thrown away. Entries have to be ready by Wednesday 25th May 2005 for collection.
