Green City Fun Day - Saturday 28th May 2005

The annual "Green City Fun Day" will be taking place this year in the Duthie Park, on Saturday 28th May. It will be an excellent chance to raise the profile of Eco Schools amongst the general public, so we hope that your school will want to take part in our competition to make a banner for the day. Banners should have an environmental message and be decorated so we can display them outside at the Green Fun Day.

The aim will be to make the banner and decorate it using materials that would otherwise have been thrown away. We suggest that you use an old bed-sheet (cut in half lengthways) as the base of the banner and then sew, stick or staple the scrap materials to it. Please attach them firmly in case it is a windy day! If no one at your school has any worn out bed-sheets, then ask at local charity shops. If possible, please sew strong cords or loops into the corners so we can hang them up easily.

Please let me know if you intend to produce a banner / banners. Banners will be collected from schools on Wednesday 25th May.
